Why a photographer built this

Twenty years of watching pressure through a lens.

Twenty years of watching pressure through a lens.

Photographing athletes and performers for 20+ years, Brie spent a lot of time watching what happens right before and after the big moments: the reaction after a mistake, the breath before a shot, the way someone carries herself when everyone is watching.

After 10+ years coaching high-level youth soccer, she saw the same thing from the sideline. Talented girls weren’t usually missing talent. They were getting caught in the parts no one had trained: the self-talk, the body, the definition of winning.

And as a mom of two, she saw how much a parent’s words and presence become part of the moment too, especially right after the game, when everyone is still carrying what just happened.

MindBodyWin came from all three: the lens, the sideline, and the car ride home. It gives young women and parents a way to practice what those moments demand.

A camera catches the exact moment a performer decides who they’re going to be under the lights. Do that ten thousand times and you stop seeing talent, you start seeing the practice underneath it.

The spine of the system

Three things the lens taught Brie.

Three things the lens taught Brie.

01

Composure is visible.

If it’s visible, it’s trainable. The camera showed that what people treat as invisible can be seen, named, and practiced.

02

Performance is decided early.

The best performers weren’t the ones who never felt pressure. They were the ones who had already trained and chosen how they’d meet it.

03

She needs her own lens.

On set, Brie heard how much gets said about women’s bodies. MindBodyWin helps girls build their own lens, so those comments don’t define how they see themselves or how they perform.
